"The Sensory Belt has had an amazing effect on my son! The belt calms him down and allows him to be better focused so he is able to sit and color, play games, etc. without extraneous movement. At seven years old my son asks for his belt because he knows it's helping him. Everyone who has Sensory Integration Disorder should have one of these."

Mother of a child with PDD-NOS, SID

"I gave a Sensory Belt to my first ADHD client, and I was truly amazed at the instant positive reaction this boy had. He immediately expressed that he felt the weight of the belt helped him calm his body and reduce his hyperactivity. I had him take the belt home for use with his parents, and the next week they all reported that the belt had continued to help him control his activity level. My client said it felt like magic. His parents said he had only had to use the belt a few times, and that the results had lasted longer each time."

"The Sensory Belt is often worn by several of my students for short periods of time to help them calm down and be able to focus on their assigned tasks. Some of the students will go and get the belt themselves when they feel the need for the weight provided by the belt."

"I have found the Sensory Belt to be a valuable therapy tool. The best pieces of equipment are those that have multiple uses. I have used the Sensory Belt as a tool for improving postural stability, strengthening, increasing body awareness, providing sensory input to increase attention and assist with sensory modulation. A definite asset to any therapists--bag of tools."

"My son loves wearing his Sensory Belt and wears it everyday! He even points it out to his caregiver when she is dressing him. I can feel the difference when I'm holding his hand and we are walking. He is much more stable and balanced. Thank you for this great device!"

"Received my Sensory Belt today and felt wonderful right away. It now feels as if my crutches are toothpicks in my hands. I have never, in all my 55 years, enjoyed walking as much as I do now. I'm thrilled to have a therapeutic aid which will help me maintain the balance I need, now, and in more elderly years. The fact is that the Sensory Belt is working great!"

"The Sensory Belt is used to stimulate the proprioceptive system through the use deep pressure to promote attention, focus, organization and self calming. The weighted belt helps provide the individual with a greater sense of their body's position in space. The belt can be used with individuals who have ADD/ADHD, Autism, PDD, Sensory Integration Disorder (SID) and learning disabilities."

"During my daily tasks at work the Sensory Belt has given me a skill that I had thought I lost over the years (me). I was able to stay focused, less restless and my impulsiveness to "complete a task and move on" as well as not having to move in my seat or get up to move "just to move" every so often has decreased and my ability to finish tasks at hand has increased. Interruptions (either caused by me or others) are not as time consuming as they used to, as I can re-focus in a more timely fashion.
Although, I do take daily medication for my ADHD, there are times
when medication itself is not effective for me (i.e. stress, deadlines,
etc.) and wearing the belt for lack of a better word "calms"
me and does not allow my mind to follow the person who came over
to my cubicle to vent to stress me out but gave me the ability to
maintain and follow what they were asking.
Since there is no real "cure" for ADHD, one has to learn how manage one self. I am glad to say that the Sensory Belt has helped me better manage my ADHD at work and at home."

Office Worker with ADHD (Texas)

"I have definitely seen a difference in my clients that have been wearing the belts. I have used the Sensory Belt on 5 different clients and seen greater stability in their pelvis creating more balance and less shifting. I have also been able to adjust the tilt of their pelvis by the placement of the weight either in front or behind. I have also used the belt for simply what it is - weight - giving the client more resistance to strengthen their legs."

"We have tried many things over the years to help in our son's development. At 10 years of age he was unable to walk unassisted. We knew the problem was his balance. After reading about the Sensory Belt in the newspaper, we immediately ordered one online. Our son is now walking all around the house without any help. In fact, he constantly surprises us when he just walks into the room. We've dreamt of this moment for ten years. So, in our mind, the Sensory Belt truly is a miracle!"

"Wearing the Sensory Belt was the first time my grandson sat quietly through dinner in 10 years. He asked to take the belt to school because it "holds him down" and he is able to concentrate better."

"After Jack received his belt he didn't fall as much and
was noticeably more focused during our soccer games. The belts calming
effect improved his focus to where he began learning more and playing
better. Jack would wear the belt for fifteen minutes before he would
go into the game."

Soccer Coach of SID Boy

"The Sensory Belt is a useful tool in assisting children with poor sensory awareness of pelvic stability and core strength to feel more grounded. This can assist in adapting to variable external stimuli without triggering a fight or flight reaction resulting in better adaptive responses."

"Keegan had a little setback with his balance when we changed his orthotics...all I had to do was put the Sensory Belt back on him one time to correct the problem. ....something,huh."

"I tried the Sensory Belt on a 12 year old client diagnosed with ADHD who also has Sensory Integration issues. Immediately, he experienced more stability and the quality of his mobility was significantly improved. In fact, my client liked the belt so much, he asked his mother if he could keep it and wear it at home."

Original Diamond Designs, Inc. is proud to have received the above testimonials from therapeutic professionals, health care professionals, school teachers, and families from all across the country. We thank all the parents, physicians, special education teachers, and therapists for their advice and support in making the Sensory Belt one of the most effective sensory products for children, teens, and adults with special needs. The Sensory Belt is a weighted therapy or sensory therapy which may be used as a balance aid, walking aid, and mobility aid for balance and mobility deficits. Weighted sensory products have also been found to promote attention, focus, and self calming during sensory therapy sessions. If you would like to share your experience with us about the Sensory Belt please send us an email. For infants and children who have difficulty modulating or adapting to sensory sensation sensory processing products can help. Sensory products have been found to help stimulate interaction between the brain and the senses which is crucial for healthy neurological function. Miscommunication between the brain and the senses can be regulated with the use of sensory products, weighted products, such as weighted belts, weighted blankets, and/or weighted lap pads. By stimulating the proprioceptive system sensory products help to increase neurological feedback to the brain. Seeking to encourage the nervous system to integrate sensory information through the use of these sensory products can make a dramatic impact in the development of your life. With the use of weighted sensory products you will see a rapid improvement in your ability to focus on assigned tasks. Another major area where sensory processing products are helpful, especially the weighted belt, is with teens and adults who suffer from gross motor deficits such as balance and mobility deficits. Once you are able to regulate sensory information more effectively it's just a matter of time before your new found confidence and/or legs will carry you to new heights.
